Echoes of the Past

from Revisited by Lew Bear

/

about

This was one of those tracks that all rolled out in one, like it was given to me.
This seems to be a marmite song, with some thinking it introspective miserabilia, while others consider it some of my most moving lyrics.

Either way, I wanted to hear it done with a bigger sound than it had been done before

lyrics

Once upon a time was a boy who wore my name
He thought he wore it well
Thought life was a game, emotions simply names
He puts me through hell

The echoes of the past grow discordant with age
They don't change the key as I turn a page
And the boy I once was, well, he's gone for good
Can't forget his deeds, no, I wish I could

Done too many sins, hurt too many things
To ever fully atone
But I gotta try. I use your pain to cry
I wish I had known

Chorus

Bridge/Build up

I wish I could forget all the things I said that I didn't mean that I do regret
I wish I could forget all the things I did that I didn't mean that I do regret
I wish I could forget everything I said that I didn't mean that I do regret
I wish I could forget everything I did that I didn't mean

Chorus
