All That Really Matters

from Bubble and Squeak (Rest of Vol 2) by Lew Bear

/

about

This is a track about love in hard times. I think it's a really fun, catchy little number, but the reason it didn't make an album is not that it's not good enough, it's that it's basically a copy of 2 of my other songs - a chord progression from one and a rhythm from another, both of which were on my last album, so it kinda felt throwing this in the mix too would've been odd.

lyrics

Cant turn on the hot tap, cant turn off the cold
Cant go in the garage coz the rats are getting bold
And it won't get better any time soon
But all that really matters is me and you

Oven's getting colder, the fridge is getting warm
The boxes in the cupboards full of insects set to swarm
And now we've lost the can opener too
But all that really matters is me and you

Cant turn on the tv the electric bills too high
Cant be reading books with no glasses for my eyes
And now the phones been disconnected too
But all that really matters is me and you

All that really matters is just you and me
Coming in together no matter what the key
All that really matters is just you and me
We aint got much, but what we got is free

Repeat 1st verse
